Ploni terms of service

1. Who we are

Ploni is provided by the Ploni AI team ("we"). Contact: hello@ploni.ai.

2. Who may use Ploni

Ploni is for businesses and organisations only. By signing up you confirm that you act on behalf of a business and may bind it to these terms. Ploni is not offered to consumers.

3. The service

Ploni receives text you send, replaces personal and identifying details with numbered placeholders, and returns the cleaned text with a map of the replacements. It can also put the original details back into a text when you send the map. Ploni is delivered as an API hosted in Israel, and by separate agreement as an on-site installation.

4. Ploni is an aid

Ploni is automated software. It finds most identifying details and it can miss some, including in the settings we describe as strict. It can also hide words it did not need to hide. You decide what to send to Ploni and what to do with the result, including whether to send it to any AI provider or other third party. For sensitive texts, review the result first. Ploni does not replace your own legal duties, and it does not give legal advice.

5. Free plan

The free plan includes 100,000 words at signup and 10,000 words each calendar month, with rate limits. Signup words stay until used; monthly words do not carry over. We may change or end the free plan with 30 days' notice.

6. Paid use

Ploni is in free early access, and nobody is charged now. Our listed price is $0.20 per 1,000 words, plus any applicable tax. Any purchase is arranged separately with us. During early access, submitting the upgrade form adds 1,000,000 words to your account, once per account. We measure words as described in the API documentation. We may end early access or change prices with 30 days' notice; a change does not apply to words already processed. Fees already paid are non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use Ploni or its outputs to build, train or improve a product that competes with Ploni, including a model for detecting or removing personal data;
  • try to extract the model, its weights or its rules;
  • bypass limits or share keys outside your organisation;
  • break the security of the service, or send material you have no right to process;
  • use Ploni for an unlawful purpose.

You keep your API key secret and are responsible for use made with it.

8. Benchmarking

You may test Ploni against other tools for your own evaluation. You may not publish the results or share them with third parties without our written consent.

9. The Ploni guarantee

Test Ploni free on your own texts, against any tool. If another tool does better, we will train Ploni on your texts until it wins, free of charge, and you get a $2,000 credit for using Ploni, equal to 10,000,000 words.

Conditions:

  • "Better" means fewer identifying details left visible at similar text damage, measured with our comparison tool, using labels we agree with you, on a sample of at least 50 texts or 10,000 words. Ploni "wins" when it does better than that tool's result on your sample, measured the same way.
  • You give us the sample under a signed agreement that sets out how we keep and delete it. The sample must be one you may lawfully share. You are responsible for following the other tool's terms.
  • The credit is for the hosted service, at normal rate limits. It is valid for 12 months from the day we confirm that the other tool did better on your sample. We keep training until Ploni wins or those 12 months end, whichever comes first. The credit and the training are your only remedy under the guarantee.
  • The guarantee covers Hebrew texts. It applies once per customer.

10. Your data

You own your texts and the outputs. We process texts only to provide the service. We do not store or log the texts you send, and we do not use them to train our models unless you agree in a signed agreement. The data processing agreement at ploni.ai/dpa applies to personal data in your texts and forms part of these terms.

11. Our rights

We own Ploni, the model and the software. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service under these terms.

12. Warranties

We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. Beyond that and section 9, and as far as the law allows, the service is provided "as is", without any promise that it will find every identifying detail, run without interruption or suit a specific purpose.

13. Liability

As far as the law allows:

  • our total liability under these terms is limited to the greater of $100 and the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim;
  • neither side is liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost data or reputational harm;
  • we are not liable for what you or a third party does with text after it leaves Ploni, including a detail Ploni missed that reaches your AI provider.

These limits do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct or anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

14. Ending use

You may stop at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or endangers the service. Sections 7, 10, 11, 13 and 16 continue after the end.

15. Changes

We may change these terms and will post the new version with 30 days' notice for significant changes. If you keep using Ploni after that date, the new terms apply.

16. Law and courts

Israeli law applies. The courts of Tel Aviv have exclusive jurisdiction.
